"I was so pleased when I was first taken here... Big comfy old leather sofas and a roaring fire, not to mention interesting and yummy food. However, in the last year it's really gone downhill, when I went recently I was disappointed to see the fire unlit, on a very chilly day, and the soafa area has gone so more tables could be squeezed in and, perhaps most importantly, the food was very forgetable, all except the meat platter which consisting of a mean amount of 3 different types of salami really stuck in the throat...What a waste of potential!"

Peter Rosier said on 18th January ... "While the food isn't bad, the Angelsea has lost its cutting edge and othergastropubs in the area such as the Carpenter's Arms have caught up and surpassed it. The worst feature we recently found was charmless service. It takes little to say 'thank you' and ask how the food was. It didn't happen. I think the Angelsea needs a bit of a kick."

Lovely piece of steak and excellent home cooked chips. The sunday roast is also good and although pricey is the best to be had anywhere!
As stated above the only downside is the price which has increased a little too much to warrant anymore then an occassional visit."

"I have loved this pub for a number of yesrs now, but after spending nearly £ 300.00 on a mediocre meal. and an obvious wish to get rid of us (obviously NOT part of their required demographic!!!), I will not be using this again - I would advise anyone who doesnt't live wothin 25 yards of the place to steer clear as I will!"

Paul said on 06th May ... "We stopped by on a Friday evening for a drink and a quick meal only to be totally surprised by the great food and wonderful experience.
The staff were very nice and helpful. They all worked together to make the evening a great experience.
In addition, the food, from the crusty bread to the sweet dessert, was fresh, ample and very tasty.
The dining room is small, so get there early or plan to spend some time in the bar waiting for a table."

Caroline said on 16th February ... "The Anglesea is a fantastic pub with an amazing restaurant area at the back. The place is easy-going but the food is just fabulous. The menu is seasonal, changes daily and is short and concise... i find this reassuring as you always know produce is fresh and seasonal.
I have eaten amazing fish dishes here and the dishes are prepared with flair and attention to flavours and presentation, vey rarely found in a pub.
The service is laid back, but i like it that way and the people are fab. It's got a very relaxed, fun, informal, yet upmarket feel and a brill wine list to match. Get there early or be prepared to wait for a table...it's busy for a reason.. "

Sam Gilligan said on 03rd February ... "Always crowded. Food is average and overpriced. If you can get a table you sit with your elbow in your neighbour's face (and theirs in yours). They don't take bookings. Arrogant staff and landlord. Don't bother going out of your way to eat at this place.

Julian knight said on 11th August ... "Food is good, so is the beer but the service. I know it’s always mobbed but do the staff really have to treat their customers like they are something they have found on the bottom of their shoes? It wasn’t just an off night or one member of staff with an attitude malfunction it was everyone. And talk about ideas above its station! My friend asked if they did chips and the guy taking our order said "This isn’t the sort of place that does chips!" ..well last time I looked the Ivy does chips as does Rules (which has been around some 200 years).
Piece of advice don’t go to this pub, go somewhere your custom is appreciated even if the food isn’t as good, you will be happier!"

alison osborne said on 21st May ... "The anglesea has just got better and better...and is one of the friendliest pubs in London. The food is delicious, creative and very good value for money...much more top restuarant than pub quality.
You can't book , so get there early."

M.Francis said on 15th March ... "The Angelsea Arms is one of those very civilized pubs which despite being somewhere in West London, almost feels villagey. The whole 'Brackenbury Village' area in which the Angelsea Arms is situated feels peaceful and laid back. It costs a fortune to buy a place round here but people don't parade their wealth as they would in say Chelsea. Anyway ...
We came here for lunch one Sunday in July and had one of the best pub lunches ever. The food served here is better than a lot of restaurant food you will eat. The group I was with had a mixture of starters and main courses and we couldn't find anything we didn't think was good. I had the Slow Cooked Roast Pork which was really succulent and tasty. I like to think that I chose the best thing on the menu, but some of my companions choices looked equally good. Why can't all pub lunches be cooked with such care?
The beer is good too, my pint of Marston's Pedigree went down a treat.
Just one point if it's a good day, make sure that you get here early to bag one of the three or four outside tables. The main eating area at the back of the pub felt somehow too enclosed for my liking. It didn't seem to deter anyone from sitting there however because the place was soon packed out.
After lunch why not do as we did and walk the hundred metres or so to leafy Ravenscourt Park, and sit under a tree for a while to recover."
